Maria Bakalova, widely introduced to the world as Borat’s daughter Tutar in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, has joined the MCU with a key role in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3. Deadline was first to report.

Director James Gunn recently teased the involvement of an “unannounced actor” in the film, and Deadline is confirming that the Bulgarian actor is not this mystery person. A similar clarification was issued last week, when The Suicide Squad’s Daniela Melchior was announced as part of the cast–but she also was not the mystery person. Responding to Deadline’s new report, Gunn took to Twitter saying, “I guess I should be surprised it took you guys this long to get this one,” adding that Bakalova is “incredible” in the sequel.
